Midwest Bank taps Ziegler, Green for leadership roles

Midwest BankCentre (MBC) recently announced expanded leadership responsibilities for two top officers.

Frank J. Ziegler Jr., who continues as president of MBC, has been promoted to chairman of the bank’s South Region. Gerard “Jerry” Geen, previously Northern Jefferson County/Fenton regional president, has been named South Region president. The bank’s South Region now encompasses its four locations in south St. Louis County and northern Jefferson County, including Lemay, Oakville, Arnold and Fenton, Mo.

“These two leadership moves help us make the most of Frank’s 42 years with the bank and Jerry’s 20-plus years in banking,” Board Chairman, John B. “Jack” Biggs said. “Both Frank and Jerry are outstanding bankers who take a consulting approach to their work that adds value and depth of knowledge for our customers. They are both highly committed to the communities they serve.”

Ziegler joined the bank, then known as Lemay Bank and Trust Co., following his college studies at Harris Teachers College and Saint Louis University. He worked in varied roles in several bank departments, becoming executive vice president in 1981. Ziegler has been bank president since 1995. He serves as a director of the Missouri Independent Bankers Assn.

Geen joined MBC as regional bank president in 2000 after 20 years in other St. Louis area middle-market commercial banking and bank management roles.
