Mehlville’s Felton selected to serve on MSBA Executive Committee

Mehlville Board of Education member Larry Felton has been selected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Missouri School Boards’ Association.

The Executive Board consists of seven members. Felton was elected to represent large school districts across the state.

The Missouri School Boards’ Association, or MSBA, serves as a strong advocate for public education in Missouri, acting as the unified voice of school board members throughout the state, according to a news release. The association also strives to provide members with an opportunity to enhance their skills, expand their knowledge, exchange ideas and discuss important issues with their colleagues.

Felton has been serving as the Region 7 Governmental Relations chair on the MSBA board As a member of the Executive Committee, Felton will help advise the executive director in budget development and administration, approve monthly budget reports, inform the full Board of Directors of interim actions, concerns and issues, and evaluate the executive irector.

“Serving on the Executive Committee provides me with another opportunity to be an advocate for public education,” Felton stated in the release. “I am humbled that my peers elected me to be their representative.”

In April, Felton was elected to another three-year term on the Mehlville school board.
