Mehlville High School junior Lily Kohler has taken home the gold. With a time of 1:05.60, Kohler scored first in the 100-yard breaststroke event at this year’s swimming state championship, which took place Feb. 19-21.
Kohler also medaled in the 200-yard individual medley, with a time of 2:09.01. She earned her spot at third place in that event. Earlier this month, at the Red Girls Swim and Dive Conference held Feb. 3-4, Kohler finished the same event with a time of 2:08.33 — her personal best, according to Swimcloud.
Kohler has seen prior success in her gold medal event, the 100-yard breaststroke, this season. At the Nancy Brandt Invitational, held Jan. 7-8, she also came in first with a time of 1:06.84.
