The Mehlville School District on Tuesday encouraged community members who are interested in helping to provide public oversight of the district’s accounting and finance procedures to apply for a vacant seat on its Finance Committee.

Established in 2008, the Finance Committee regularly provides information and guidance to the district’s administration and Board of Education. Some responsibilities of the committee include:

• Submitting recommendations regarding debt level.

• Monitoring current and future capital needs.

• Projecting operating revenues and expenditures.

• Offering recommendations such as strategies for increasing funding, reducing expenses and maintaining accountability.

District residents with a background in finance or accounting who are interested in contributing to the fiscal success of the Mehlville School District should visit

to download an application form. All applications must be submitted to Chief Financial Officer Noel Knobloch at knoblochn@mehlville.k12.mo.us by Friday, Oct. 21.
