The Mehlville High School Band, with help from the MHS Band Parents Association, raised $3,000 to purchase two tubas for the band program in the Joplin School District, which lost all of its instruments in last year’s tornado.
On the way to Albuquerque, N.M., for its annual band trip, the MHS Band will stop in Joplin, Mo., to rehearse at Missouri Southern University and present the tubas to the Joplin Band Program. The MHS band will leave the high school for Joplin and Albuquerque at 1 p.m.
