Nov. 1 update: Police identified the man struck and killed as Michael Jones, 32, of the 1st block of Berrywine Court in Arnold.

“A younger adult male” died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle at about 7:20 p.m. Thursday at Tesson Ferry and Towne South roads, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
Arriving at the scene, officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct found the man, who had been struck by an SUV traveling northbound on Tesson Ferry, north of Towne South.
The man, wearing all dark clothing, was attempting to walk from the west side of Tesson Ferry to the east side of Tesson Ferry, police said. He was not crossing at a traffic light or crosswalk, according to police.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was transported to a local hospital, but later died of his injuries.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
The incident is under investigation by the Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and Accident Reconstruction.
