Elizabeth Maag, who recently completed her sophomore year at Oakville Senior High School, has been accepted into the Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics and Computing at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
The Missouri Academy is an accelerated, two-year residential school for students academically talented in science, mathematics or technology and replaces the junior and senior years of high school.
Admission is based upon math and science career interests, standardized test scores, transcripts, teacher evaluations and essays. Upon completion, Elizabeth will have earned an associate of science degree from Northwest Missouri State University and a high school diploma from the Missouri Academy or from Oakville High Senior School.
She attended Blades Elementary School and Bernard Middle School. Elizabeth was a member of the Oakville High Woman’s Chamber Choir that took first-place honors at the National Heritage Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas, last spring. She also was a member of a Solo Ensemble that received a 1 Rating — highest honors — at the Missouri State Competition in Columbia last spring.
She is the daughter of Maureen and Dennis Maag.
