James and Melitta Luca of Oakville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 10 during a 16-night Mediterranean cruise to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Spain, France and Italy.
Mr. Luca and the former Melitta Bauernschmidt were married May 10, 1958, at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich, Conn., by the Rev. Edmund C. O’Connell.
He is retired from Monsanto, where he worked 16 years. Mrs. Luca is a retired registered nurse.
They are the parents of six: Jeffrey of West Haven, Conn.; Jamie Bennett of Gilberts, Ill.; James Jr. of Berkely, Mich.; Julianne Kochanski of Meridian, Miss.; Jeanne Kimbrell of Lady’s Island, S.C.; and Jonathan of Cape Coral, Fla.
The couple have 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
