Henry and Barb Schaper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 9 during a reception at the Rock Memorial American Legion Post in Imperial.
Mr. Schaper and the former Barbara J. Vogel were married May 9, 1959, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in St. Louis by the Rt. Rev. Harry E. Stitz.
He is retired from Union Electric — now AmerenUE — where he worked for 39 years and the Missouri Air National Guard after 23 years.
They are the parents of four: Henry Jr. of Marthasville, Deborah of Imperial, Marilyn of Matese and Michele of Affton. The couple have 17 grandchildren.
