The Mehlville Garden Club, working with the St. Louis County Parks Department, installed a Blue Star memorial marker in memory of the military at the Old Ordnance Room Museum in Jefferson Barracks Park. A garden has been maintained since and, with assistance from the quarry, a large stone bench has been placed under the tree for a sanctuary. During the months of April through October each year, Mehlville Garden Club members maintain the garden area. Members assisting this year are pictured above from left to right, back row: Christine Linnebach, Jean Kovarik, Dot Dormley, Yvonne Wagner, Laverne Ehlmann, Annemarie Bertick. Front row from left to right: Wanda Hults, Dottie Warren, Tracy Colona, Debbie Timmons, Laura Kump, Betty Fresta and John with St. Louis County Parks and Jefferson Barracks Park. Warren and Doug Wolter, with the Parks Department, acquired and installed the memorial marker.
