Finds Mehlville’s salaries ‘eye-opening’; will vote ‘no’ on tax increase

To the editor:

Anyone attempting to decide how to vote on the 88-cent tax-rate increase requested by the Mehlville Board of Education need only read the salaries for school district administrators, principals, assistant principals, et al., published in the Sept. 2 edition of the Call.

While all of the salaries are eye-opening, the biggest eye-popper is $71,070 for a little more than a one-half-time assistant su-perintendent-human resources — personnel director to most of us. Makes me wish I had majored in education. The listing also made my decision to vote “no” on the tax increase an easy one.
