The First Baptist Church of Oakville is hosting a free Community Kite Flying Contest for all ages from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church, 6741 Telegraph Road. Prizes for highest- and longest-flying kites and most “decked-out” kite will be awarded to four contest groups: children, teens, adults and seniors. Prizes have been donated by Crusoe’s, Dairy Queen, Firehouse Subs, Icing Cafe and more Oakville restaurants. A limited number of kites will be available to children. All are welcome. Rain date April 21.
