Jacqueline Elizabeth Weiss, daughter of Donald A. and Joan Weiss of south county, and Matthew Robert Wind, son of Robert Wind Jr. and Kathleen Wind of Ellisville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Weiss is a 2000 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She is a graduate of Truman State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2004 and a master’s degree in biology in 2005. She is pursuing a doctorate at the University of California-Davis in plant biology where she is a graduate research assistant.

Her fiancé, Wind, is a 2000 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2005 graduate of Truman State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He is employed by the California Animal Health and Food Safety Lab at the University of California-Davis as a chemist.

The couple plan a Sept. 8 wedding at St. Anthony of Padua.
