Combining chickens with Crestwood mounds could solve mall issue

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

I was elated to read Emily Klein’s July 19 article, “Crestwood OKs keeping nine chickens,” announcing the all-OK to raise more chickens.

Let’s take the spirit another step further. A community chicken farm, “Chicken Mountain” — the perfect place is right in front of us: Crestwood Commons. The aldermen are probably “unanimously” on board. Isn’t everyone for more birds? Free range is in. Plenty of space, too.

Community gardening is in. Residents can donate the eggs to build the flock. No more cost.

This gets everyone off the hook. The city, the landlord, the community. We won’t have to drive to west county for entertainment, and it will be fun wringing necks.
