Chellis urges voters to cast ballots for David Gregory

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

We are fortunate as residents of Missouri House District 96 to be represented by the young and energetic David Gregory. David grew up here in south county and understands our local issues. Gregory has conducted a town-hall meeting in our district and responds to every constituent inquiry.

Moreover, as an accountant and a lawyer he has the education and ability to grapple with statewide issues in Jefferson City on our behalf. For more than six months, Gregory conducted an in-depth fiscal opportunity audit including significant data collection from the Missouri Department of Revenue and extensive interviews with its employees to identify potential savings for Missouri taxpayers. He uncovered $36 million in potential savings for Missouri taxpayers.

David Gregory also formed the St. Louis Flood Committee, on which I had the opportunity to serve. He brought together members of the community not just from his own District 96 but also from Fenton, Oakville and other parts of the Meramec River basin to study the causes and actions we can take together to formulate possible solutions to this perennial regional problem.

David has accomplished a lot in just two years in the Missouri Legislature, which is why his colleagues recognized him with the Freshman Legislator of the Year Award in 2017.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, I would encourage the people of District 96 to vote for David Gregory.

Matthew J. Chellis
