Charges were issued last week against a Fenton man accused of robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the prosecuting attorney’s office issued charges April 7 against Marcus Rogers, 49, of the 400 block of Schneider Hill Court in Fenton for robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action for an incident that occurred April 1.

According to police, officers from the Fenton precinct responded to a call for service April 1 at the Phillipps 66 gas station located in the 900 block of South Highway Drive.  Upon arrival, officers found the store clerk, a 35-year-old woman, suffering from a head injury. According to a probable cause statement, the victim was working at the register when she was approached by Rogers, who proceeded to assault the victim by striking her repeatedly in the head with a six-pack of soda. The victim required stitches and suffered a broken bone.

The assault was captured on camera, and a witness familiar with the defendant reached out and identified him as Rogers. Rogers was taken into custody in Jefferson County April 6. He is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond, no 10%.

Also under advisement are charges related to a burglary April 5, when officers from the Fenton precinct responded to a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Villa Gran Way. The victim told officers upon arrival that there was an adult male — allegedly Rogers — in their basement and he had pointed a firearm at the victim. The suspect left the residence prior to the offices’ arrival.
