Landscaper receives industry certification

Total Landscape Inc., Green Park, named Rob Kruse a Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA). Kruse recently passed an exam that covers all aspects of working in the landscape industry.

Jones partner wins entrepreneurial award

Edward Jones Managing Partner John Bachmann has been honored with the 2002 National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Principle-Centered Leadership presented by Franklin Covey Co.

When Bachmann succeeded Edward D. “Ted” Jones Jr. as managing partner of Edward Jones in 1980, the St. Louis-based firm had 300 offices and revenues of $19 million.

Today, Edward Jones boasts 8,700 offices and revenues totaling more than $2 billion, is preparing to embark on an even more aggressive round of growth, and was recently named the No. 1 “Best Company to Work For” in America by Fortune magazine.

CPA joins a Sunset Hills accounting firm

Schowalter & Jabouri, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, Sunset Hills is pleased to announce that Jamie C. Jabouri, C.P.A., C.I.S.A. has joined the firm in its audit department.

Sachs Electric moves to expanded location

Sachs Electric Co., Fenton, last December moved into a new 95,000-square-foot headquarters. The facility, 50 percent larger than the space it previously occupied, enables Sachs to consolidate operations under one roof.

“In addition to being centrally located, with easy access to all major highways, our new building gives us room to expand,” said Clayton M. Scharff, P.E., president and chief operating officer.

Investment counselor named All-American

Tony Vierling, Investment Representative with the Crest-wood office of Edward Jones, has been named to the All-American Team of The American Funds Group of mutual funds.

Vierling was cited for outstanding service to investors in the Crestwood area and for financial expertise and dedication to principles of sound mutual fund investing.

Vierling has been with Edward Jones since May, 1997. He has been in the financial services field for 11 years. Vierling graduated from St. Louis University in St. Louis in 1982.

Jones repeats as US’ best place to work

For the second consecutive year, the financial services firm Edward Jones received the No. 1 ranking by Fortune magazine in its annual listing of the “Best Companies to Work For” in America. The ranking appears in the magazine’s Jan. 20 edition.

Planner completes certification process

Joe Bergan of the financial-services firm Edward Jones in Sunset Hills has achieved the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Bergan successfully completed the requirements that include course work and a series of examinations.

Veteran employee is now service officer

Kathy Sitzes has been promoted to Customer Service Officer by Southern Commercial Bank and will be assigned to the South Broadway branch.

Sitzes joined the bank 29 years ago as a teller and has worked as a customer service representative for many years. She lives with her husband, Deryll, in Mehlville.

Area accounting firm grows tax department

Schowalter & Jabouri, P.C., Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, announced that Tina M. Heischmidt has joined the firm in our accounting services and tax departments.

Investment advisor honored by his peers

Jody Carmack, the Oakville in-vestment representative for the financial-services firm Edward Jones, was one of 47 representatives honored Jan. 23 at a business management forum in New York.

Carmack was recognized for the excellent business-management skills he demonstrated. In addition to being honored, Carmack met with other investment representatives to share ideas for increasing efficiency and improve customer service.
