A new Bob’s Discount Furniture location is slated to open at 6910 S. Lindbergh Blvd., replacing the Joann Fabric and Crafts store that previously operated at that address. The major retailer, Joann’s, permanently closed its roughly 800 stores across the nation after filing for bankruptcy. 

The Bob’s Discount Furniture store on Lindbergh will be the third in St. Louis County. It joins one in Manchester at 14250 Manchester Road, as well as one in St. Ann at 990 NW Plaza Drive. The company is an American furniture retailer headquartered in Connecticut. 

There is some work happening on the building at 6910 S. Lindbergh now, as the team for the new tenants refits the building for lighting and plumbing systems, among other things.

Some locals and South County residents took to the NextDoor app to discuss the change. One commenter expressed her disappointment, saying that the area already has “enough furniture stores, car washes, banks, etc.”
