Bierbaum Principal Nathan Burch is leaving the Mehlville School District to serve as principal of an elementary school in the Parkway School District.
The Mehlville Board of Education unanimously rehired Burch in February at a salary of $104,000, the same salary as this year. Superintendent Chris Gaines said that all administrators were rehired at this year’s salary, but that could have gone up depending on the budget and teacher negotiations.
Nathan Burch has been selected as the principal of Claymont Elementary School, effective July 1. The Parkway Board of Education unanimously voted 6-0 to hire him at its Feb. 27 meeting for a salary of $110,000. Member Kristy Klein Davis was absent.
Burch is currently the principal of Bierbaum Elementary in the Mehlville School District, where he has served for two years. Previously, he was an assistant principal in the Fox School District, where he also began his career as an elementary classroom teacher more than 10 years ago.
Burch holds a doctorate of education from Maryville University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Missouri Baptist University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University.
Burch will replace Michelle Weissenborn, who is retiring.
