Ashleigh Stevens, Megan Davidson and Alexis Watts all won character awards from Gotsch Intermediate School in January 2013.

Editor’s note: With students in and out of in-person schooling this school year due to the pandemic, there are fewer activities students are able to participate in at school that we can share with the community. So this holiday season we are revisiting past stories. This is from January 2013.

Students at Gotsch Intermediate School in Affton strive to embody the school’s character traits on a daily basis. Those who do and are “caught” demonstrating good character by teachers and staff members are entered into a monthly drawing to attend a special Pizza With Principals celebration with Brian Smith, principal, and Rose Davis, assistant principal.
The character traits for Gotsch Intermediate School include Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Cooperation, Courageousness, Commitment, Reliability and Self-Control.

In January, students who had Pizza With Principals were:
Third Grade: Natalie TehanDon for responsibility and kindness; Cece Graham for responsibility and kindness;  Jane Ireland for responsibility and kindness; Connor Paulus for respect and cooperation; and Michael Poe for kindness;
Fourth Grade: Ileiana Gonzalez for kindness; and Carson Lincoln for respect;
Fifth Grade: Megan Davidson for cooperation; Ashleigh Stevens for kindness; Sanala Suljkanovic for reliability; and Alexis Watts for responsibility.
