Lindbergh High School band members are planning to perform for 36 hours straight on April 11 and 12 to raise money for childhood cancer research and assist families of children with cancer through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
The free community event – dubbed the “Musicthon” – will take place at Lindbergh High School, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd. It begins at 7 a.m. on April 11 and wraps up at 7 p.m. on April 12. Everything will take place in the LHS commons.
“This has become a tradition for our band every year that is really rewarding and a lot of fun,” Jessica Tuncel – Lindbergh High School senior, band president and organizer of this year’s Musicthon – stated in a press release from the district. “The whole school gets involved.”
Though the full schedule of musical acts has yet to be released, the 2025 Musicthon will kick off with the LHS woodwind choir at 7 a.m. on Friday, with the LHS brass choir to follow. From 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, the LHS drumline will perform. To close out the event, the LHS jazz ensemble will play from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday before the total amount of funds raised is announced.
For those who cannot attend the Musicthon in person, the entire event will be livestreamed on the LHS Bands YouTube channel. Donations will also be accepted online.
