Woman robbed at gunpoint in Oakville home

An Oakville woman was robbed at gunpoint in her home Monday night.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, the victim, who lives in the 5200 block of Milburn Road in Oakville, heard a strange noise in her house and opened the bedroom door to find a stranger inside her house.

The man, who was armed, demanded money before fleeing the house with the woman’s purse, which had some money and miscellaneous items, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male between 45 and 50 years old, wearing dark clothing.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s South County Precinct responded to the burglary call.

The woman’s house is close to Oakville Elementary, Oakville High School and Blades Elementary.

The incident is under investigation by detectives with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.
