County Executive Charlie A. Dooley has announced staff reorganizations designed to enhance the county’s communications effort.

Effective immediately, Patricia Washington will become director of communications, according to a news release. Mac Scott is director for special projects.

Washington is a veteran communications professional who has worked in St. Louis media as a reporter, radio on-air talent and newspaper editor, the release stated. She has more than 10 years experience as a strategic communications consultant.

Washington joined St. Louis County in 2011 as a media manager in the Department of Health. She moved to the county executive’s office in 2012 to support media and handle special projects.

Scott has been with the county executive’s office for 21 years. He previously worked as a reporter/columnist at the St. Louis Business Journal.
