Joy Voss recently received the Girl Scout Outstanding Leader Award at the Point Elementary School Girl Scout Banquet at Andre’s Banquet Center.

The Girl Scout Outstanding Leader Award is a national honor that recognizes troop/group leaders, assistant leaders and co-leaders who have completed appropriate training and exceeded their job description.

The performance of award recipients is so outstanding that it merits recognition, according to a news release.

Voss has two daughters — Abby and Hannah — and serves as head Girl Scout leader for both girls’ troops.

She plans many fun activities and field trips for the girls as well as fun community-service projects.

Voss continually gives of herself, her talents and opens up her home continually for the girls, according to the release.

Furthermore, she gives countless hours and help to both Point Elementary School and Oakville Middle School.

She never hesitates to help the moms with their questions about child-rearing and school issues.

The release also stated that Voss handles the girls with love and respect and treats each one as a daughter.
