Voice recital to be presented this Sunday

Mezzo soprano Mary Hogan will present a voice recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Hogan will present works by Schumann, Debussy, Schubert, Faure, Strauss and Mascagni during the free performance, which is open to the public. The concert also will feature a light group of selections from “Showboat” and “Oklahoma.”

She will be accompanied by well-known pianist John Gross, who serves as the organist at the St. Lucas United Church of Christ.

Hogan has been teaching in the Lind-bergh School District for several years and currently serves as one of the assistant principals at Lindbergh High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Fine Arts College in Charleston, S.C., and a master’s degree from Webster University.

Hogan studies voice with Frances Gillett, a south county music educator and voice teacher.
