Two young sisters from Oakville were killed in a single-vehicle car crash on Lemay Ferry Road in Oakville Sunday night.

St. Louis County Police officers from the South County Precinct responded to a call for service for a crash in the intersection of Lemay Ferry Road and Providence Place Drive around 9:16 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7.

The single car in the crash had two occupants, who were both pronounced dead at the scene: The driver was Heather Derickson, 18, of the 2800 block of Parc Cheri Court in Oakville; and the passenger was Hailey Webb, 20, also of the 2800 block of Parc Cheri Court in Oakville.

The women are sisters, according to a GoFundMe set up to benefit their mother. At the time this article was published, the fundraiser had raised $4,784 of its $40,000 goal.

Derickson was a 2019 graduate of Oakville High School, and Webb graduated from Oakville High School in 2018.

Although the crash is still under investigation, police said that preliminary findings show that Derickson was driving the Mazda 3 sedan southbound on Lemay Ferry Road and left the roadway to the east. The car hit a tree just south of Lemay Ferry Road’s intersection with Providence Place Drive.

The area had slick roads after snow fell over the weekend.

The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit and Accident Reconstruction Team.
