St. Louis County will conduct two open houses this week to share information about its proposed “South County Connector.”
One open house will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. today — Tuesday, June 7 — at the Affton White-Rodgers Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road. The other will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the Shrewsbury City Center, 5200 Shrewsbury Ave.
In very general terms, the “South County Connector” is a proposed major new roadway linking South County to central St. Louis County, as well as to interstates 55, 44, 64/40 and I-170. A specific route has not been selected.
The open house will discuss potential corridors through which the road could be built, time lines, cost and other pertinent information about the project. Residents are invited to attend and ask questions.
Officials have said public input will play an important role in the route the county ultimately selects.
