Two local churches will be offering free community meals on Thanksgiving this year.

Affton Christian Church, 9625 Tesson Ferry Road, and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 2761 Telegraph Road, will both offer community dinners on the holiday, Thursday, Nov. 22.

Affton Christian Church will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It is the 10th year the Affton church is providing a meal for anyone from the community who wants to attend.

The church served over 350 meals to residents at the event in 2016.

The outreach is designed to help those who are struggling financially as well as those who find themselves alone on this holiday.

For those who are homebound or for whom transportation is an issue, homebound delivery and/or pickup will be available upon request by calling 314-631-5777.

St. Luke’s will be offering a free traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings and desserts from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you would like to volunteer to help, please sign up online via the church website at www.stlukesumcmo.org or call 314-892-5595.
