A woman at the South County Health Center was seriously injured Thursday when a man crashed his truck through a wall of the health clinic in Sunset Hills.
A 77-year-old man driving a pickup truck drove the truck through the wall around 11:10 a.m., with the truck coming to a stop partially inside the building at the health center at 4580 S. Lindbergh Blvd., the Sunset Hills Police Department said. Several members of the public called 911 to report the crash, which happened at one of St. Louis County’s two county-owned health centers.
The driver only had minor injuries, but a 66-year-old woman who was standing inside the wall as the man drove through it was propelled across the room and trapped in the debris, police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under active investigation, police said.
The South County Health Center is currently offering free COVID-19 tests to all county residents.
