Third FACTS meeting set Wednesday night

The third meeting of the Mehlville Fire Protection District’s Fire District Advisory Committee for Tomorrow’s Emergency Services, or FACTS, will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, in the lower level of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 11011 Mueller Road.

The topic of the meeting will be “staffing levels,” according to a district news release. Deputy Chief Steve Mossotti will present information about the district’s current staffing levels and the costs associated with maintaining them.

Like other businesses, the fire district has struggled to maintain staffing levels and budget constraints have forced the district to reduce its staffing by almost 10 percent over the past two years, the release stated.

With an ever-increasing number of emergency responses, the district is turning to its community for answers.

Community Co-Chairs Gail Chatfield, Bill Cocos, Judy Wideman and Dave Sinclair will moderate the meeting, which is open to the entire community.

Anyone interested in participating can register by calling 894-0420, Ext. 1716, or e-mailing facts@mehlvillefire.gen.mo.us.
