Four suspects are still at large following a vehicle pursuit that began in Sunset Hills Sunday.

Sunset Hills Police responded to call Feb. 27 at about 11:47 p.m. at 1580 S. Kirkwood Road about suspicious persons in the La Quinta Inn parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers observed three male suspects breaking into cars. The three suspects, plus a driver, fled in a silver Toyota sedan with no license plates. Due to the current trend of vehicle break-in suspects being armed, and having shot at victims when confronted, officers initiated a vehicle pursuit.

Sunset Hills police officers pursued the suspects on eastbound Interstate 44 to Grand Boulevard and Sidney Street where the suspect vehicle was involved in a one-car accident. Four male suspects fled from the vehicle in different directions. The driver exited the vehicle with a handgun, eventually discarding the weapon underneath the suspect vehicle. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to assist and an area canvass for the suspects was unsuccessful. As of The Call’s press time, all four suspects were still at large.

Officers recovered several items from the vehicle, including an AR pistol with a full 40 round magazine, a .40 caliber handgun that had previously been reported as stolen, over 8 grams of fentanyl, 3 ounces of marijuana and several other items of suspected stolen property.

If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the four subjects please call the Sunset Hills Police Department at 314-849-4400.
