Sunset Hills Ward 3 Alderman Randy Epperson has resigned from his position.
Effective Dec. 31, he will no longer be on the Board of Aldermen or the Police Advisory Board. Mayor Pat Fribis will likely soon nominate a candidate to be approved by the board to fill his seat on the Board of Aldermen, and Ward 4 Alderman Lindsay Hof will be taking over his position on the Police Advisory Board.
According to a statement posted by Epperson on Facebook, 2023 has been a year of significant changes and challenges in his personal life. Because of this, he has decided to sell his home and move to a more manageable villa nearby.
“My words cannot express what a pleasure and honor it has been to serve all of you for the past three years, as well as having the opportunity to serve on and chair the Sunset Hills Police Advisory Board,” Epperson wrote. “Sunset Hills is a wonderful community. I am so proud and fortunate to have had the privilege of not only raising my family here but to have been able to work alongside such talented, hardworking, first class employees and elected officials. I will miss all of them and all of you.”
Anyone interested in serving as the interim Ward 3 alderman should contact Fribis, Ward 3 Alderman Cathy Friedmann or City Administrator Brittany Gillett as soon as possible.
