The Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen voted to approve six committee appointments Sept. 13, while postponing two others for term discrepancies.

The board approved two police advisory board reappointments, three finance committee reappointments and Ward 4 Alderman Lindsay Hof as economic development chairman.

The board also tabled a new appointment and reappointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission due to a discrepancy with the length of the terms. Both appointments were set to expire in 2026, which, according to City Administrator Brittany Gillett, is a date that includes part of the last term.

City Attorney Erin Seele said this would ensure the terms are still staggered and is common practice.

The appointment expiration as proposed was set for Sept. 13, 2026, but the date may actually need to be May 10, 2026. Staff will review the appointment due to the discrepancy between dates, and will also review the reappointment as a result, although the reappointment expiration was set for May 1, 2026.
