The Sunset Hills Police Department is looking for a jewelry thief who robbed a woman’s apartment at Friendship Village on the 4th of July.

A woman came home and found a man coming out of her bedroom in her apartment in the 12700 block of Village Circle Drive at Friendship Village Sunset Hills around 12:45 p.m. July 4, police said.

The man made off with some of the woman’s jewelry, but she was uninjured and there was no altercation between them, police said. He might have fled in what appears in photos released by police to be a white Jeep. No other apartments were entered.

Police said they are seeking the man on a potential charge of first-degree burglary.

The man is a white male, five feet, nine inches, with strawberry-blond short hair, police said. In surveillance photos taken that day, he is shown wearing a blue button-down shirt with an insignia on the upper left side, dark pants and black flip-flops.

This is a serious crime and the potential for either intentional or accidental harm to victims is always reason for concern,” the Police Department said.

If anyone recognizes the man or has any information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact the Sunset Hills Police Department Detective Bureau at (314) 849-4400 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477 or stlrcs.org.
