Sunset Hills will continue its 50th anniversary celebration with the burial of a time capsule Saturday, Sept. 15, during a ceremony at City Hall, 3939 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Past mayors and city staff will be recognized during the ceremony and burial of the time capsule. Elected officials, dignitaries and residents will place items in the time capsule. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and the time capsule will be sealed at roughly 3 p.m.

The day’s festivities will kick off with an open house and tours of city facilities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities will include rides, face painting, pony rides and contests.

After the time capsule is buried, radio host Johnny Rabbit will conduct a trivia contest from 3 to 5 p.m.

Radio personalities Mad Maynard and Jackie McCoy then will conduct their oldies show from 5 to 9 p.m.

Parking will be available at Watson Trail Park and South County Technical School with shuttles running every 15 minutes.
