Sunset Hills celebrates 60th anniversary Saturday

Sunset Hills celebrates 60th anniversary Saturday

The city of Sunset Hills will celebrate its 60th anniversary this weekend with food, games, fun — and the chance to be the first to dunk Mayor Pat Fribis.

The Sunset Hills 60th anniversary celebration will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Aquatic Center, 12512 W. Watson Road.

“This will be fun for the whole family!” the city wrote on its website.

In commemoration of the milestone, all city residents will receive free pool admission from 4 to 9 p.m. The event will feature live music by the Wild House Kats from 4 to 8 p.m. along with food, a rock-climbing wall, an obstacle course, face painting and a balloon artist. Attendees also will have the chance to be the first to dunk the mayor at Mayor Pat Fribis’ dunking booth.

Additional parking will be available at the Community Center, 3939 S. Lindbergh Blvd., with a shuttle to the Aquatic Facility.

Coolers are welcome in the park, but no glass and no alcohol are allowed in the Aquatic Center.
