Megan Venable of Crestwood has been nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Venable was nominated by U.S. Rep. Todd Akin to the U.S. Naval Academy and by U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill to the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

She will graduate from Lindbergh High School in May — one year early. Venable has not decided which nomination to accept, but is quite honored that she received nominations from a congressman and senator, according to a news release.

She plans on majoring in engineering.

She has been involved in numerous activities at Lindbergh High, including marching band, color guard, swimming, water polo and various clubs and organizations.

Venable also has been an active member of the Concord United Methodist Church and its youth programs.

She is the daughter of Chad Byrd and Carrie Venable.
