The St. Louis County Planning Commission will once again hear from Dharmesh Sharma of A1 Liquor at the commission’s June 10 meeting, as Sharma seeks a conditional use permit in a C-2/FPC-2 commercial floodplain district to operate a new store at 4324 Telegraph Road.
The location is part of the same shopping center that A1’s current store is located at 4334 Telegraph Road. According to the commission’s June agenda, Sharma is using a previously approved site development plan for his proposal and is not proposing any new improvements.
The commission meets Monday, June 10 at 7 p.m. in the County Council chambers at 41 S. Central Ave.
Sharma previously proposed an entirely new liquor store to the commission in 2023, but that plan did not come to fruition. At that time, he sought to construct a 1-story store at 4390 Telegraph Road, at the intersection of Pottle Road.
“We are renting … right now and we would like to move to that location to own our property,” Sharma said in 2023. “The property we are renting right now is very small … it is very congested, it is hard to walk.”
Also on the commission’s June 10 public hearing agenda are proposals for a group living facility; and adult daycare center, emergency respite center and child daycare center, both in the 4th County Council District; multifamily residences and a telecommunication tower in the 2nd County Council District; and multifamily residences in the 1st County Council District.
