Sperreng Middle School’s Science Bowl team recently placed second in their division and among the top 16 teams nationally at the National Science Bowl in Chevy Chase, Md.
Sperreng’s team of Julia Stephens, Rounak Bera, Shalaka Nimmagadda and Leanne Dang qualified for nationals after winning the first Missouri Regional Science Bowl for middle school students earlier this year.
In all, 46 teams competed at Nationals after qualifying in regional competitions across the country that included more than 1,023 teams.
The Sperreng team is coached by teachers Julie Roy and Chelsea Simon.
