The speed limit on Lemay Ferry Road at Lemay Woods will be reduced after a study by the Missouri Department of Transpor-tation determined that a reduction was warranted because of the number of accidents and other factors, according to Rep. Walt Bivins, R-Oakville.

The speed limit will be reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph within two to three months when new signs are installed.

“Residents of this area expressed their concerns about safety to MoDOT and after they evaluated the situation it was determined the concerns were warranted,” Biv-ins stated in a news release. “MoDOT has assured me that they will continue to monitor the safety of this roadway and make any changes necessary in the future.”
