Two South County residents are in the running to have their artwork printed on “I Voted” stickers across all of St. Louis County: Lamija Salkic of Bayless Junior High School and Rachel McInnis of Affton. They are two of 12 semi-finalists from 150 submissions in the annual sticker design contest, hosted by the St. Louis County Board of Elections, in partnership with the St. Louis County Library.

The final round of voting opened to the public on Nov. 17. There were three categories based on the age of the artists — Salkic was in the Grade 6-8 category, and McInnis was in the 18+ category — as well as a category for designs for a “Future Voter” sticker.
Salkic’s work is a colorful, floral design with three flowers clustered around the words “I Voted! 2026 STL.” The bright colors of the oranges, teals and purples make the artwork pop.

McInnis’s design is a play on a St. Louis classic: the toasted ravioli. The simple design reads, “I JUST VOTED!” but the “V” has been replaced with a bitten-into toasted ravioli.
Winners of the design contest will be announced on Dec. 1, and their stickers will be distributed at polling places across the county beginning in 2026.
