South county contends with first real snowfall of season

The first real snowfall of the season practically paralyzed traffic throughout the region Thursday morning. Though the snow totaled only an inch or two, traffic came to a standstill on such major south county thoroughfares as Telegraph Road and Lemay Ferry Road. Traffic also was bumper to bumper on Interstate 55 and Interstate 255. Numerous traffic accidents were reported throughout south county. Only minor injuries were reported in the majority of accidents. Snow is expected to continue through early evening Thursday with temperatures dropping to 14 degrees early Friday.
