Friday, Jan. 26

  • The youth of St. Lucas UCC, 11735 Denny Road, are excited to host their 3rd annual Soup & Chili Cook-Off from 5 – 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the high school youth 2024 mission trip to North Carolina. One tasting and one vote will cost $1, Six tastings and six votes will cost $5 and unlimited tastings and 20 votes will cost $20. One bowl will cost $5. 

Sunday, Jan. 28 

  • Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., has worship recorded and streamed every Sunday at 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and Youtube, and in-person.
  • Trinity United Church of Christ, 5200 Hilde Ave., is holding services at 10:30 a.m. “Open and affirming.”
  • The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting “Julia Dent Grant: A General’s Wife in the White House” at 2 p.m. Dr. Diana Carlin, Professor Emerita of Communication at St. Louis University, will present the program. Monday, Jan. 29 

  • Reserve your space by today for the SAJE Mardi Gras celebration on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. The celebration will take place at St. Justin Martyr Parish Hall, 11922 Eddie and Park Rd., and will include a New Orleans buffett by Soulard’s Cajun Corner and entertainment by the Lindbergh Dixieland Jazz Ensemble. Holmes Ave., is hosting “Ron McNair: Astronaut, Scientist, Renaissance Man” from 2 – 3 p.m. Learn about Ron McNair, who overcame many obstacles to become the first person to play a wind instrument in space before tragically losing his life on the space shuttle Challenger in 1986.
