Attend a school hiring event | This event has been rescheduled for Jan. 31 due to the predicted incliment weather. There will be a hiring event from 8 a.m. to noon at Webster Groves High School’s Frick Theater/Cafeteria, 100 Selma Avenue. This is a Collaborative Diversity Recruitment event, now in its third year. Research shows that having a teacher of color can help students of color reach better outcomes, but the benefits extend to all young people, preparing them to live and work in an increasingly diverse society. Exposure to teachers from different racial backgrounds can enhance cross-cultural understanding and reduce stereotypes among students. While the emphasis is on recruiting educators and support staff members of color, anyone is encouraged to attend. The hiring fair is a joint event between Lindbergh, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, Kirkwood and Webster Groves school districts.
