So-called ‘Logo Hat Bandit’ arrested, charged

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged the so-called “Logo Hat Bandit” with robbery in the first degree.

Bryon J. Gullion, 35, of the 1400 block of East Anderson, Mexico, was charged Wednesday — Jan. 25. Gullion currently is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond, according to police.

At about 11:20 a.m. Jan. 17, St. Louis County Police officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call of a robbery at the Jefferson Bank & Trust, 5475 Southfield Center. A man implying that he was armed but never displaying a weapon entered the bank and demanded money.

The subject fled the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of currency. No one was injured.

St. Louis County Police detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons received critical information from the Maplewood Police Department that led to the identity of the suspect. The St. Louis County Police Department was able to locate and arrest the man in the 7000 block of Glades in Richmond Heights with the assistance of the FBI and Richmond Heights Police officers.

Gullion, who has been referred to as the “Logo Hat Bandit,” is facing additional charges in the municipalities where he is accused of committing bank robberies, according to police.
