Servicemen and first responders were honored during a special Mass Friday morning at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque that commemorated the heroes and victims of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Those honored, from left, are: Army Maj. Patrick Tiemann, Army Spc. Nick Niedbalski, Mehlville Fire Protection District Capt. Dennis Maag and St. Louis County Police Officers Pete Peterson and Brett Belcher. The special guests were presented medals and pictures of their patron saint, plus cards of appreciation from St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School students.
