Siteman Cancer Center’s new outpatient facility in south county will celebrate its public grand opening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
The new facility is at 5225 Midamerica Plaza, near Interstate 55 and Butler Hill Road.
The free event will feature:
Health screenings and disease risk assessments.
Samples of healthy food.
Hands-on activities that explain cancer’s genetic links.
One-on-one discussions with Washing-ton University physicians.
A children’s activity tent.
Children’s bicycle helmet checks.
A tent offering therapeutic support for cancer survivors.

The facility, which opened in January, offers access to the same technology and advanced treatments available at Site-man’s main location at the Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, including more than 240 therapeutic clinical trials.
“Treatment at a top-10 U.S. cancer center just got easier for hundreds of thousands of area residents,” Dr. Timothy Eberlein, Siteman’s director, stated in a news release. “Along with convenience, patients at our south county location will benefit from the world-class cancer care and outstanding research of our Washington University physicians.”
Dr. Bruce Roth, professor of medicine, is director of medical oncology at the new location, and Dr. Parag Parikh, assistant professor of radiation oncology, is director of radiation oncology.
