Sharon M. Thompson

Died: Thursday, February 13, 2014

A memorial service for Sharon M. Thompson (nee Sha-fer) will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Crown Center for Senior Living, 8350 Delcrest Drive, St. Louis.

Mrs. Thompson, who lived in Oakville for more than 35 years, died Feb. 13. She was a 1960 graduate of Normandy High School and a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Mrs. Thompson taught elementary school for a number of years and then was a librarian at the Tesson Ferry Branch County Library.

After her retirement, she worked with young children through Springboard. Mrs. Thompson also was an outstanding storyteller who belonged to three storytelling groups, Gateway, Motel and Riverwinds.

In addition, she was a member of the Puppet Guild of Greater St. Louis Inc. and performed magic tricks for children. Mrs. Thompson was an avid bowler and belonged to a group that made greeting cards.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her brother, John Shafer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zane Thompson.
