Lindbergh Schools administrators, including Superintendent Jim Simpson, received a 5.3-percent salary increase for the current school year.

The 5.3-percent raise for administrators is the same average salary increase teachers and classified staff received for the 2014-2015 school year.

Simpson is being paid $259,291, up from the $238,372 he earned for the 2013-2014 school year. Besides a 5.3-percent salary increase, a benefit for mileage and cell phone reimbursement totaling $7,800 was eliminated from Simpson’s contract and included in his base salary instead.

“This was an IRS (Internal Revenue Service) requirement for all superintendent contracts and occurred at no additional cost to the district,” stated information provided to the Call by Lindbergh.

The board also purchases a long-term disability insurance policy for Simpson and funds the full premium for a term life insurance policy for the superintendent, with a benefit amount of $343,000.

For the 2010-2011 school year, Simpson received a 5-percent pay increase, but donated that amount — more than $10,000 — back to the district for student programs that were eliminated as a result of budget cuts.

The Affordable Care Act requires employers to provide the same health benefits to all employees. Because Simpson previously was the only school district employee to receive spousal health coverage, that benefit — totaling $8,940 — was removed and added to his base salary for the 2011-2012 school year.

Simpson has served as superintendent since July 1, 2008, when he was paid $195,000. The board recently extended his contract through June 30, 2017.

With the exception of the superintendent, administrators receive the same benefits as other district employees, such as an insurance package that includes health, hospitalization, dental, vision and life benefits.

Salaries of other Central Office administrators for the 2014-2015 school year are:

• Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Nancy Rathjen is being paid $158,004, up from $150,051. For the 2003-2004 school year, her first year with the district, she was paid $97,000.

• Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Services Brian McKenney is being paid $143,924, up from $136,680. McKenney replaced Rick Francis, who retired in August 2012. Francis was paid $143,938 for the 2011-2012 school year.

McKenney formerly served as principal at Long Elementary School and was paid $110,690 for the 2011-2012 year.

• Assistant Superintendent for Finance Charles Triplett is being paid $141,776, up from $134,640.

Triplett replaced Pat Lanane, who retired in September 2012. Lanane was paid $155,000 before his retirement. Triplett formerly served as director of curriculum and student programs and was paid $100,278 for the 2011-2012 school year.

• Director of Assessment and Student Services Jill Lawson is being paid $103,110, up from $97,920.

Lawson was hired in July 2012 to replace Tara Sparks, who was named Truman Middle School principal, effective with the 2012-2013 school year. For the 2011-2012 school year, Sparks was paid $97,751 as director of assessment and student services.

• Director of Instruction and Professional Development Amy Geurkink-Coats is being paid $101,088, up from the $96,000 she was paid last year, her first year in the post.

• Director of Curriculum and Student Programs Eric Cochran is being paid $93,443, up from the $88,740 he was paid last year, his first year in the position.

Combined, the superintendent, assistant superintendents and directors are being paid a total of $1,000,564 for 2014-2015.

Salaries of Lindbergh High School administrators for the current school year are:

• Principal Andy Croley is being paid $142,155, up from the $135,000 he was paid last year, his first in the position.

Croley replaced Ron Helms, who retired. Helms was paid $150,725 for the 2012-2013 school year. For the 2001-2002 school year, Helms’ first year as principal, he was paid $99,000.

• Assistant Principal Keith Luebbert is being paid $138,316, up from $131,354. For the 1998-1999 school year, he was paid $81,678.

• Assistant Principal Pamela Mason is being paid $107,970, up from $102,536. For the 2006-2007 school year, her first as assistant principal, she was paid $81,607.

• Assistant Principal Ryan Sherp is being paid $104,727, up from $99,456. For the 2006-2007 school year, his first as assistant principal, Sherp was paid $84,500.

• Assistant Principal Priscilla Frost is being paid $90,000. As an intern last year, she was paid $74,000.

Salaries of middle school administrators for the 2014-2015 school year are:

• Sperreng Middle School Principal Mark Eggers is being paid $131,717, up from $125,087. For the 2010-2011 school year, he served as associate principal at Sperreng and was paid $112,000.

• Sparks, who serves as Truman Middle School principal, is being paid $117,073, up from $111,180. She replaced Jennifer Tiller, who was paid $121,032 for the 2011-2012 school year.

• Sperreng Assistant Principal Clint Walker is being paid $93,443, up from $88,740. He was paid $87,000 the previous year.

• Truman Assistant Principal Mike Straatmann is being paid $91,611, up from $87,000. He served as an intern at Truman the previous year and was paid $72,264.

Salaries of elementary school administrators for the 2014-2015 school year are:

• Concord Elementary Principal Megan Stryjewski is being paid $111,817, up from $106,189. For the 2009-2010 school year, her first as principal at the former Truman Elementary, she was paid $97,500.

• Crestwood Elementary Principal Jodi Meese is being paid $105,300, up from the $100,000 she was paid last year, her first in the position.

• Kennerly Elementary Principal Todd Morgan is being paid $108,480, up from $103,020. He was paid $101,000 for the 2012-2013 school year, his first as Kennerly principal.

• Long Elementary Principal Jana Parker is being paid $107,406, up from $102,000. She was paid $100,000 for the 2012-2013 school year, her first as Long principal. She replaced McKenney.

• Sappington Elementary Principal Craig Hamby is being paid $109,574, up from $104,059. For the 2010-2011 school year, his first as principal, he was paid $96,500.

• Sappington Elementary Assistant Principal Angie Moehlmann is being paid $87,000. As an intern last year, she was paid $74,000.
