Scholarship fund established in memory of Lindbergh High School student

The parents of Erin Mace have teamed up with the Lindbergh School District to create a scholarship fund in her memory.

The scholarship will be a memorial for Erin Mace, a Lindbergh High School student who was killed last fall. The fund will provide an annual scholarship and support students at Lindbergh High School.

The first fund-raising event is a 5-kilometer run and 1-mile family walk/run at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 22, on the high school campus, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Runners, walkers, event sponsors and volunteers are needed for the event.

The fee is $15 per individual and $45 per family. The family fee is available only for the 1-mile walk/run and includes four shirts.

The event starts at 8 a.m. with registration and T-shirt pickup. The 5-kilometer run will begin at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile walk/run will start at 10 a.m.

Age categories are: men and women, 15 and younger, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60-plus. Trophies will be awarded to the top overall male and female. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age division. All entrants of the 1-mile walk/run will receive a participation ribbon.
